Voor deze POËTISCHE EN INTIEME VERTELLING OVER EEN VERBORGEN GEZAMENLIJK VERLEDEN onder regie van Jouman Fattal heb ik samen met
met Sarah Nixon een beeldvullende pop ontworpen en uitgevoerd. .
Deze zomer was Peter Vermaat op bezoek in mijn atelier. We hadden een mooi gesprek samen. Dit schreef hij uit en het resultaat staat nu gepubliceerd in De Wereld van het Poppenspel (herfst 2023, jaargang 68)

It took months to cross-stitch this awesome picture. Transmute pixels in x x x.
During the embroidery-sessions, the words of Louise Bourgeois tumbled through my head:
THE ACT OF SEWING IS A PROCESS OF EMOTIONAL REPAIR.
And it was.
To capture this split second in stitches, a moment I will never forget, including the feel of joy, loads of energy which only music can generate (for me), so much love for Corno and my dearest bandmembers, for the audience & friends on the other side.
Thread by thread and stitch by stitch in so many colors of yarn, which my mother in law gave me, I could mold my sadness of this loss in something beautiful.
The imperfections solved by a golden thread, like kintsugi.
16,973 stitches, 57 colors, 1 golden thread.

This special, beautiful, limited 10” will be released on 19th January during The Sound of Young Holland XIII >> Subroutine & Lepel Concerts annual, fiercely independent showcase festival.
Space Siren will play live @ de Kult with two members of HOWRAH, who fill the gap Corno has left behind, exactly on the same place where this picture was taken in 2012.
I’m very very happy and delighted with the result.
